What’s New
Version 6.26 is not huge, but features a few quality improvements and fixes to provider mode, and some under-the-hood updates. In addition to updating some dependencies, this release clarifies an error shown to providers without a sufficient vehicle for a specific chore. We also fixed a bug occurring on the settings screen that was occasionally seen in provider mode. Enjoy, and thanks for using Takl!
This App is a Joke
Giving a “one star” is too high. I am almost one month into the application process to be a provider and cannot get the process to complete (FYI..Providers have to pay a $30 fee for their own background check). The “Help” feature in the app also does not work and will not load. It actually loaded the first time I tried to use it but there is no record of it. I had to find my “Welcome” email and go around the app to get to a chat room help desk. The agent I was connected to could not figure out why the app would not submit my request for background check nor had the ability to override it and process the request manually. Her only solution was for me to install the app on my computer and bypass the app on my phone entirely to complete the process. Huh??? What’s the purpose of a mobile app that only works on a pc? When I informed the agent this was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to someone in management now, she told me she would forward my request to them and they would get in touch with me at a later date but did not know when. So..the app doesn’t work, help desk can only be reached outside the app, help desk can’t figure out the problem nor can they fix it, and management will get back to me at a later date. The resolution, if ever found, needs to be one heck of a Quality Service or we will have to consider other alternatives. I am EXTREMELY disappointed.

Provider registration happens on takl.com- which you can reach on your phone's web browser or a desktop web browser. You can also reach it through the app. The app will be for seeing and managing available jobs once you are an approved provider. Great new app!
This is a great new app that I took a chance on. Yes, I kept seeing the commercials & I decided to give Takl a try. I’m so glad I did! I’ll be honest, I’m not the most tech savvy person out there & once I downloaded the app I had questions. I went on their chat room & every question was answered for me. I requested a job to get done & within minutes had the person who was going to do it locked in. I could even see his picture, his profile and after picking Scott I was able to text him directly to leave information since I wouldn’t be home when he was here doing the outside work. I included “before” pictures on my job request & he sent me “after” pictures. I was notified when he was on his way, when he got to my home & when the job was complete. Perfect! I waited until I got home, loved his work & hit complete & just like that Scott gets paid & I'm a very satisfied customer. I will definitely be using Takl again. Thank you.
Good with some suggestions
As a provider I’m overall pleased with the app. It’s fairly intuitive to use and lays things out in a simple manner. A few suggestions I have for the developers that would make it much more enjoyable to use:
-Allow providers to see star ratings for specific chores they performed. How will we know what to do better or differently if we cannot see feedback?
-Don’t require location services to be set to “Always On”. By setting a specific location point with an xx-mile radius for chores would be incredibly beneficial. Since everything for Takl is so phone dependent, having to worry about battery drain due to location settings adds an unnecessary level of stress. I would be THRILLED if this was implemented in a future update.
-I’m curious why I have to rate a customer at the end of each chore. I cannot see these ratings prior to accepting a chore so what use do they have?
-Please implement a notification to update to the provider if a customer does not accept you for a chore. Having to constantly check back and pull down to refresh gets pretty annoying, especially if you’re in the middle of something else.
